DAY 1 - NJP/Bagdogra To Darjeeling Drop

Your journey to the Queen of Hills begins from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). After meeting our driver, you will start a beautiful uphill drive toward Darjeeling, which generally takes 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic and weather. As you leave the plains of Siliguri behind, the road slowly winds up through the lush green landscapes of the Sivalik Hills. The journey offers scenic views of dense forests, tea gardens, small mountain villages, waterfalls, and sharp hairpin bends.

DAY 2 - Darjeeling Sightseeing

Darjeeling sightseeing includes a visit to Tiger Hill for the famous sunrise over Kanchenjunga, followed by the scenic Batasia Loop and the peaceful Ghoom Monastery. Guests can explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoo, enjoy views from the Ropeway, and stop at Tenzing Rock for a quick adventure. The tour also covers a walk through a Tea Garden, the serene Japanese Peace Pagoda, and the beautifully designed Rock Garden. The day ends with free time at Chowrasta/Mall Road, perfect for shopping and a relaxed evening stroll.

DAY 3 - Darjeeling To Njp/IXB Drop

Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your Darjeeling hotel. Enjoy a scenic drive through winding mountain roads, lush tea gardens, and Himalayan landscapes as you descend towards Bagdogra. Our driver ensures a smooth and timely transfer to IXB Airport, allowing you to complete your departure formalities without any rush. This service includes door-to-door pickup, assisted luggage handling, and a safe, hassle-free travel experience.

Booking and Payment

1.1. All bookings must be made through our authorized representatives or website.
1.2. A minimum deposit of [30]% of the total tour cost is required at the time of booking.
1.3. The balance payment must be made [3] days prior to the departure date.
1.4. Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation of your booking without refund of the deposit.

Pricing and Inclusions

2.1. Package prices are quoted in [INR] and are based on current rates of exchange and hotel tariffs.
2.2. Prices include only the items specifically mentioned under “Package Inclusions.”
2.3. Any increase in airfare, fuel surcharges, taxes, or hotel rates after booking will be borne by the customer.

Cancellations and Refunds

3.1. Cancellation requests must be made in writing (email or letter).
3.2. The following cancellation charges will apply:

 

  • 30 days or more before travel date:
    Full refund after deducting 5% processing charges.

  • 15–29 days before travel date:
    30% of the total package cost will be charged.

  • 10--14 days before travel date:
    50% of the total package cost will be charged.

  • Less than 7 days before travel date:
    No refund will be applicable

Terms and Conditions

1. Mandatory Documents for Travel

For Gangtok & North/East Sikkim Travel

  • Every traveler must carry original Voter ID Card (for Indian nationals) or Passport.

  • Children must carry:

    • Birth Certificate (original or photocopy)

    • School ID card

  • Soft copies are not accepted for permits.

For Nathula Pass Permit

  • Only Indian citizens with valid ID (Voter ID or Passport) are allowed.

  • Pan Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Ration Card etc. are not accepted for Nathula permits.

  • Travelers must submit:

    • 1 passport-size photo (recent)

    • Voter ID/Passport copy for verification

2. Permit Rules (Nathula, Tsomgo, Baba Mandir, North Sikkim)

  • All permits are subject to approval by the Indian Army & Sikkim Government.

  • Permits may be denied or cancelled last-minute due to:

    • Weather conditions

    • Snowfall

    • Road blockage

    • Army movement

    • Government instructions

  • If Nathula is closed, an alternative sightseeing will be provided but no refund is applicable.

3. Health & Age Restrictions

  • Nathula Pass is located at 14,000 ft, and high altitude rules apply.

  • Travelers above 65 years or below 5 years are generally not recommended.

  • People with:

    • Asthma

    • Heart problems

    • Severe blood pressure issues

    • Recent surgeries
      should avoid Nathula Pass.

Traverse Yatra will not be liable for altitude sickness or medical emergencies.

4. Vehicle & Road Conditions

General Rules

  • In Sikkim & Darjeeling, vehicles operate under strict local union rules.

  • Vehicles are point-to-point and not available on disposal.

  • The same vehicle may not be allowed for:

    • Nathula

    • Lachen/Lachung

    • Tsomgo

    • City sightseeing
      (Due to union regulations)

During Winters

  • Snowfall may cause:

    • Delays

    • Road closures

    • Permit cancellations

    • Change of vehicle type (e.g., mandatory 4x4)

  • Extra charges may apply for snow-chains, special vehicles, or rerouting.

5. Hotel Policies (Hill Station Specific)

  • Room heaters may be chargeable at some hotels.

  • Wi-Fi, lift, power backup may vary due to location.

  • Hot water may be time-bound in many North Sikkim hotels.

  • Early check-in/late check-out is subject to availability & hotel policy.

6. Weather & Unforeseen Situations

  • Landslides, heavy rainfall, and fog are common in Sikkim and Darjeeling.

  • In such cases:

     

    • Itinerary changes

    • Long delays

    • Route diversions
      may happen without notice.

    Traverse Yatra will assist but no refund/compensation can be claimed for such natural issues.
